Tax Authority Modernizes ID System Using Fingerprint Biometrics

The Nigerian Tax Authority has commenced with a project for a fingerprint-based taxpayer ID system. The Tax Authority has collected about 5 million taxpayers’ fingerprints nationwide since the summer of 2011.
