UAE’s State-of-the-Art ID Card System Facilitates Gov’t Service Delivery and More

Situation

A mandate of Emirates ID was to develop, record and maintain a sophisticated state-of-the-art identity management system by enrolling the entire UAE population. This included citizens and legal residents.

Challenge

Upon being registered, the new system should be capable of issuing each person a unique identification number and smart card linked to their biographical and biometric details.

Result

Together with our partner, we deployed in the United Arab Emirates a comprehensive, accurate and highly secure population register. The solution helped the country develop and facilitate governmental service delivery through demographic data made available to support the decision-making process. Furthermore, it also provided strategic planning related to resource allocation in various vital areas and sectors.
