Ballot Paper Validation Helps Secure Regional and National Elections

Together with our partner, we implemented a customized application for reading paper scanned ballots after the regional and national elections in Nigeria in early 2011. The aim was to find potential duplicate records to confirm the validity of votes. Due to the lack of quality fingerprint images, the real challenge was how to work with partial or low quality fingerprints. The manual adjudication was done with the help of a team of UK fingerprint experts and Innovatrics investigation module.
