Innovatrics the First To Succeed in NIST MINEX III Test
BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA — 31 August, 2015 — INNOVATRICS became the first fingerprint technology company worldwide to successfully pass the Minutiae Interoperability Exchange (MINEX) III continuing test organized by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). According to NIST, INNOVATRICS has delivered one of the best test results in accuracy and interoperability out of all submissions.
MINEX III is one of the most relevant benchmarks in the industry, as it is used to establish compliance of fingerprint template generators and template matchers for the Personal Identity Verification Program (PIV) of the US Government. Superseding the widely established Ongoing MINEX benchmark, the test now encompasses a more technical set of criteria necessary to achieve full PIV compliance. Each submission is tested on a significantly larger dataset, which generates 2 million single finger templates and performs about 3 million single-finger matching operations per submission.
Achieving MINEX III compliance is often a mandatory requirement for worldwide public and private tenders that require fingerprint technology. The US Government mandates the use of only those fingerprint template generators and matchers that comply with the PIV program.

INNOVATRICS was the first vendor to achieve full PIV compliance in MINEX III while also ranking first in most of the main accuracy and interoperability criteria. The INNOVATRICS template generator was the most accurate out of all vendors in both the pooled 2 finger and native 1 finger rankings. The INNOVATRICS template matcher performed the best in the native 1 finger ranking where it placed first among all submissions.
The fingerprint algorithm evaluated in the NIST MINEX III benchmark is included in INNOVATRICS AFIS and SDK products.
