Home Press releases Innovatrics Launches New Trusted Enrollment Platform for Remote Document Issuance
Innovatrics Trusted Enrollment platform enables online access to government services through secure biometric identity verification on consumer devices.
In the current COVID-19 global situation, access to public services is hampered down by lockdowns, quarantines and other public safety precautions. Fortunately, the technology to provide secure remote access with trusted identification has matured to a point that allows its easy roll-out and integration into existing e-Government services.
Innovatrics has leveraged over 16 years’ experience of developing biometric solutions and has merged its digital onboarding platform and ABIS into a Trusted Enrollment platform. A citizen can quickly and securely prove their identity remotely by simply using a smartphone and taking a photo of their ID and a selfie. The platform stores the onboarding data for further analysis to prevent fraud, or to allow selfie login and authentication for other purposes.
This makes many services, such as renewals of IDs, driver’s licenses, or e-Visas possible remotely, without the need to visit government agencies. In the era of the pandemic, this makes these services not only more comfortable, but also much safer. For the most-at-risk demographic of the population, such as the elderly or the immunocompromised, having public services available via a smartphone can literally be a life-saver.
For e-Government apps, biometrics fulfills a critical role in preventing identity fraud in a digital world while also providing customer-centric unassisted access to services. “During enrollment, every new user has to pass a liveness check to make sure that the onboarded person is real and not a spoof. Subsequently, the enrollee can be checked against the existing biometric database to ascertain the entry is not a duplicate or belonging to a blocklist. Our Trusted Enrollment module ultimately accepts, denies, or presents fraud assessment results to the operator who can review them and decide how to proceed,” explains Matus Kapusta, Head of Government Solutions at Innovatrics.
“We designed the whole system to be convenient and seamless while beefing up security,” says Peter Martis, Head of Global Sales at Innovatrics. “With very simple steps and a quick process, there’s no reason for anyone not to complete it. The high rate of potential users who abandon the enrollment midway is currently the main problem of many onboarding solutions,” he adds.
With a biometric registry in place, the array of available services can thrive without compromising security. The only thing a citizen needs is a smartphone or a computer that enables selfie login instead of less secure passwords.
