Read moreSince the launch of Digital Onboarding Toolkit (DOT) in 2018, Innovatrics R&D team has remained at the forefront of innovation in remote identity verification technology. Presentation Attack Detection (PAD), a.k.a. Liveness Check, is a critical element of trusted digital onboarding. The latest iteration (v6.8.0) of our PAD features two new algorithms and delivers a threefold performance improvement compared to its predecessor, which achieved iBeta Level 2 Presentation Attack Detection Compliance earlier this year.
Such a remarkable improvement comes thanks to innovative engineering, enhancing our existing PAD algorithm with two supplementary algorithms. The first new algorithm analyses minute details of the image to detect signs of presentation attacks, while the second focuses on detecting suspicious elements in the overall environment. As a result, the liveness check component of Digital Onboarding Toolkit is able to more accurately detect emerging attack vectors and is robust to a wider range of image capture conditions. This also delivers an improved user experience, as the algorithms can adjust to the environment of the user, and not vice versa.
Trained using advanced deep learning techniques and millions of data points, the liveness check is fully passive, needing only one image of the user’s face and requiring no user interaction, resulting in an almost 0% drop-off rate during this step of onboarding.
For our customers and partners, this means unrivaled security when onboarding a new user to services or applications where identity verification is of critical importance. Such a feature is crucial for border control and law enforcement, health and social welfare, and even in cases when a user’s identity has to be verified to open a bank account, draft a loan, or even start a mobile subscription.
Similarly, various organizations can maximize the features of our on-device passive liveness check for instant trusted face login.
As biometric authentication is increasingly being deployed to identify individuals, there’s an urgent need to beef up the capabilities of biometric systems against spoofing attacks using industry-proven techniques. Innovatrics is committed to designing and developing biometric systems that safeguard users against current and future spoof attacks while keeping the customer journey hassle-free.
