Today, we’ve announced a major update to our Digital Onboarding Toolkit Android and iOS Innovatrics DOT demo apps, showcasing our industry-leading technology for remote identity verification.
User Experience Improvements
With this update, users can experience significantly improved identity document and selfie auto-capture. Featuring our proprietary dynamic document detector, users no longer need to place their ID perfectly inside a rectangular frame in order to activate our document auto-capture function. Now, users can capture a high-quality image of their ID, with any degree of rotation. The selfie capture component is now optimized to work with Innovatrics’s latest presentation attack detection (PAD) algorithm, which is iBeta Level 1 & 2 accredited. It ensures a selfie is only captured when the required quality parameters are exceeded; this is a key step in achieving accurate liveness detection, as Marian Beszedes, Head of R&D at Innovatrics, explains “Filtering out low-quality images allows us to increase the accuracy of the algorithm without compromising customer convenience.”
e-Passport Onboarding
Users of the Innovatrics DOT demo app will now see two options under the “Full Onboarding” workflow; ID Document and e-Passport.
The e-Passport onboarding process is a new addition to the demo app and allows users to onboard using any RFID-enabled machine readable travel document (eMRTD). After scanning their document via their smartphone camera, users are prompted to place their document on the back of their phone to activate the NFC reading functionality. Then, the user’s biographic and biometric data is extracted from the RFID chip on their document.
System integrators and customers now have greater flexibility when integrating Digital Onboarding Toolkit into their remote identity verification applications.
