Innovatrics Releases New ABIS App for Enrollment, Identification and Verification

Innovatrics releases its most advanced Automated Biometric Identification System yet, ABIS 8.2, which comes with a more powerful iris algorithm, new modules and technical improvements. Along with this latest version of ABIS is Innovatrics’ new Android app for enrollment, identification and verification which is now fully mobile and can be readily deployed in the field.

Innovatrics ABIS 8.2 includes internal improvements that make our identity management system even more stable, optimizing its deduplication and biometric analysis capabilities. ABIS 8.2 can seamlessly be integrated with Android BioScriber via REST API. Moreover, our new iris algorithm has made it to the leaderboard of NIST’s Iris Exchange (IREX) benchmark.

New Android Enrollment App 

Our new Android app is particularly designed for electoral and law enforcement use cases. For the most part, an administrator simply guides individuals through a streamlined enrollment process. Enrollment can even be completed by a user without any assistance. 

To avoid vendor lock-in, our Android app fully supports multiple devices, including consumer devices such as tablets and smartphones, USB external peripherals like fingerprint, ID scanners, webcams, and receipt printers, and biometric devices from Coppernic and Laxton just to name a few.

Biometric data collected through our enrollment app is instantly registered in the ABIS database and processed by the deduplication engine. An authorized user can review the information right away via ABIS web GUI. The easy-to-use workflow allows the user to quickly resolve detected discrepancies such as duplicates using an adjudication tool where all match details are shown side by side.

Even in areas with no reliable IDs, our Android app makes it easy and simple to register individuals using face and fingerprints enrollment. Furthermore, being fully mobile empowers law enforcement officers through instant identification using fingerprints when conducting investigations in the field. 

Important and timely updates on Innovatrics ABIS allow our partners to leverage our technologies as they embrace digital and biometric transformation. Just recently, Innovatrics ABIS has been deployed in Guinea to utilize computer power to quickly identify criminals by their fingerprints.
