Innovatrics ABIS now supports the ACE-V methodology — a structured forensic approach to latent print examination that improves ...
Read moreInnovatrics has achieved another milestone by claiming first place in the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) metric for age estimation and verification for face photographs in multiple categories, as conducted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Face Analysis Technology Evaluation (FATE) Age Estimation & Verification (AEV).
Our algorithm claimed the top rank in the MAE metric – a measure that evaluates the accuracy of age estimation by calculating the average absolute difference between predicted and actual ages – for face photographs across all three categories evaluated by NIST: Application (Remote Age Verification), Border (Kiosks), and Mugshots (Video Surveillance). Out of 20 competing vendors, it stood out for its precision in determining users’ ages, reaffirming Innovatrics’ status as the industry leader.
Our age estimation technology uses advanced biometric algorithms to provide quick and accurate age estimates through a simple selfie. This process can remove the need for manual verification or ID documents. It makes it easier for businesses to ensure compliance with age restrictions while offering a seamless user experience.
Innovatrics has excelled in the “Challenge 25” test – a critical evaluation designed to prevent minors from accessing adult content by accurately estimating their age. This test plays a vital role in ensuring that users under 18 are flagged as under 25, triggering additional age verification measures.
A key metric in this evaluation is the False Positive Rate (FPR), which indicates how often the algorithm incorrectly estimates a minor’s age as being above 25. We have achieved an impressive FPR of about 5%, making our algorithm highly reliable for businesses needing to comply with age verification regulations..
Innovatrics’ Age Estimation algorithm enhances the user experience on websites and mobile apps by minimizing unnecessary ID checks for users who look old enough. Configuring the algorithm to set a higher age threshold than 25 ensures efficient and user-friendly age verification. Recognized for its reliability across multiple categories, our top-ranking algorithm is a reliable choice for accurate age estimation.
Through our age estimation technology, businesses can proactively prevent underage access to restricted services such as online gaming, alcohol delivery, and adult content platforms. They can also have the tools to cultivate safe digital spaces, comply with regulatory frameworks, and foster trust among their users.
Facial age verification is becoming increasingly important worldwide, with laws requiring age verification to protect minors and create secure online environments. Innovatrics’ participation in the NIST FATE AEV evaluation highlights its objective of developing solutions that combine industry-leading technology with a commitment to user protection in the digital age.
