Digital Onboarding Toolkit Supports Document MRZ Parsing in Fully Offline Mode

To support this, Innovatrics Digital Onboarding Toolkit (DOT) now features Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) parsing from any ICAO-compliant identity document in both online and offline mode. 

Innovatrics DOT mobile components (for both Android and iOS) can scan the MRZ field and extract all the data in under 100 milliseconds. Additionally, as it doesn’t need to access a server, it can read the RFID chip contained inside the identity document via the NFC reader on a smartphone and quickly obtain the correct information from the scanned document.

Through this document MRZ parsing functionality, Innovatrics DOT can extract and process data from most passports worldwide (ICAO Doc 9303). As it doesn’t need any internet connection to yield immediate results from on-device capture, it makes border control procedures easier to carry out for customs and immigration officers.
