In Slovakia, if you want to access most of the digital services, you need to have a chip-equipped ID, a reader capable of communicating with it and a Windows-based PC with the necessary software. Moreover, the whole activation procedure still has a long way to go before being foolproof.
Replacing chip ID with a mobile
To help citizens use the services of municipalities from the comfort of their smartphones, we have joined forces with PosAm, a provider of flexible and high-quality software and infrastructure solutions. We have aimed to design a system that makes identity checks more accessible.
By adding our Digital Onboarding Toolkit into an mID app, we have effectively replaced the requirement of chip ID when accessing municipal services. With the app, the municipalities can quickly and reliably verify users. They can then apply and pay for services such as waste collection, dog taxes, fishing permits and the like.
With preference for frictionless experiences growing, Innovatrics is committed to aiding governments, both local and state level, to adapt the use of biometrics in mobile devices as a secure way of accessing and paying for services.
