Read moreInnovatrics has enjoyed another banner year in 2021. We’ve experienced tremendous growth in our product portfolio. There was a need to redefine ourselves to reflect and accommodate our evolution as a company. As such, we have built independent product teams supported by central teams, so we can more swiftly address customer expectations with autonomy in the decision making process.
Our transformation as an organization has not only been an exciting challenge, but also quite a rewarding one. Fueled by teamwork, Innovatrics is forging ahead with deeper motivation in understanding and exceeding the diverse needs of our ever-expanding customer base. Here’s a look back on the most significant events in Innovatrics that made 2021 a year to remember.
We have released Innovatrics ABIS 8 — the next generation of ABIS designed to give maximum performance and stability while ensuring a streamlined integration process. Deployed in the Brazilian state State of Maranhão for civil and criminal use cases, ABIS 8 has also been delivered to Mexico to enroll and authenticate the mobile subscribers of Telefonica. Watch this webinar to learn about the new architecture of ABIS 8 and see how quickly it can be integrated based on REST API.
We have delivered Innovatrics Criminal ABIS to the National Police of Guinea, assisting them in the analysis of evidence and fingerprints taken from crime scenes in order to speed up the identification of offenders. Primarily designed for forensics laboratory work and criminal investigations, the ABIS is being used for the capture and storage of fingerprints and palmprints, as well as for the search for latent finger and palmprints with the necessary demographic data. The Criminal ABIS is also designed to digitize prints from paper files, significantly improving the identification of suspects.
Innovatrics finds a new home in São Paulo, Brazil to more effectively respond to the high demand for trusted identity solutions from enterprises and state and federal governments. In fact, we have penetrated extremely complicated cultural business barriers and deployed pioneering projects in several Brazilian states, Mexico, Panama, and Chile just to name a few. The Innovatrics Brazil office serves as a strategic location as we expand our operations and sustain our growth in Latin America.
Innovatrics DOT Liveness Check feature has reached new heights, with the addition of two new algorithms delivering a threefold accuracy improvement compared to its predecessor, which achieved iBeta Level 2 PAD accreditation. As a result, we have forged new key strategic partnerships across the globe, one of the most notable being with CredDefense.
With the release of DOT Web SDK, our solution now supports in-browser identity document and selfie auto-capture. This new feature allows organizations to develop omnichannel customer onboarding solutions with a seamless user journey across iOS, Android, and web.
The average accuracy of our OCR algorithm in real-world digital onboarding has soared from 90% in 2020 to over 98% in 2021 based on data collected by one of our largest global partners. We’ve also added support for Arabic, Traditional Chinese, Thai and Bengali scripts. Our OCR algorithm can be trained to recognize and read practically any script in the world.
The latest release of our facial recognition platform, SmartFace, provides an easily scalable solution for a completely new set of use cases – public security. Through our cascaded architecture, video streams are pre-processed on edge devices at/or near each camera’s location, resulting in dramatic savings in server resources. SmartFace simply allows you to build an architecture that has an unlimited number of cameras. With multiple watchlists containing hundreds of thousands of faces and smart notifications, SmartFace can prevent security incidents from happening or accelerate the time to action in smart cities, airports, shopping centers, public transportation, or any other public areas.
We have won several large-scale projects (100,000 records and more) for public security, most notably at the Palmerola International Airport in Honduras. SmartFace is slated to assist in the detection of suspicious persons through the more than 20 cameras strategically installed around the premises in real-time, ensuring the safety of at least 1.5 million passengers per year.
Innovatrics has been tapped to be a strategic partner to develop a face recognition-based government project in the Middle East for public security following the positive reception of our passive liveness detection technology. Given its robust features for enhanced video processing, SmartFace can support the most challenging situations within a public security area.
