Read moreAmping up the access control and surveillance capabilities of our facial recognition platform, we have added pedestrian detection and tracking to SmartFace Platform.
With the ability to detect people in real-time at any given frame anonymously, SmartFace can be an efficient tool to improve business operations, aid healthcare and strengthen security among multiple use cases.
Thanks to this feature, surveillance becomes more reliable – accurately detecting and tracking masked persons in areas where they are not supposed to be. It can also count the number of people standing in front of a camera without using face detection, which is critical in access control applications to enhance public safety without infringing on privacy.
Supporting CPU and GPU detection, our pedestrian detection feature is powerful and flexible enough to recognize people, requiring as few as 20 pixels and monitor any crowd size of up to 1000 distinct individuals. Especially useful during this pandemic, such functionality can prevent people from grouping or congesting in one place, reducing the spread of the virus.
In addition to pedestrian detection, the SmartFace Platform also supports body parts detection. It provides information about the position of the detected body as a part of the notification of the detected pedestrian.
The system is capable of detecting the position of 18 human joints and can recognize whether the joint is left or right. Through API models and notifications, body parts detection offers our partners the possibility to estimate human poses.
Such an estimation can be used in multiple scenarios such as critical events detection, crime prevention, and the like. Say someone is lying on the ground, or a man raises both hands up in front of another person, the system can detect these poses and classify them as emergency situations and violent acts. This SmartFace feature can therefore be useful in curbing crimes and enhancing public safety as they transpire in real time.
Our partners can now utilize a web-based feedback display app that can be used on a tablet or smartphone. By placing this module next to each entry point, they can extend their SmartFace seamless access control solution with instant feedback. Based on these notifications, the display can welcome an authorized individual, send alerts when not wearing a face mask, and inform the person if access is not granted.
Security is not only guaranteed but the system also makes sure that strict health measures are properly observed during these pandemic times.
Built upon our top rated facial recognition algorithms, SmartFace supports a wide array of instant identification scenarios for access control, surveillance, video investigation, and other purposes. With our robust and powerful modules, we can help you set up facial recognition solutions tailored to your needs.
